eMotion Entertainment develops and produces projects with commercial appeal and artistic depth. Monella Kaplan is its founder and CEO.
Monella started out as a reporter in Germany, working for the news magazine FOCUS and RTL Television. She moved to Los Angeles in the late 90s to study film production.
With a background as an executive in production companies like Millennium Media and Icon Distribution, Monella has worked on blockbuster films such as THE EXPENDABLES franchise and LONDON HAS FALLEN, gaining invaluable insights into the industry.
Monella also founded LIFE, an invitation-only event series held in Cap-Ferrat, Paris, London and New York. As she still enjoys writing, Monella is a frequent contributor for the European luxury magazine Ccercle.
Monella is a member of the Producers Guild of America and has Masters Degrees from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in film production and from Ludwig-Maximilian-University (LMU) in Journalism and Political Science. She speaks six languages.
